Monasterio Santa Catalina, Cusco
Founded in 1601 under the advocation of the Virgin of the Remedies- the same as the Monasterio Santa Catalina in Arequipa where they all had a ball holding music parties! The monasterio is built on the site of Acllahuasi (the Inca House of the Chosen Women or Virgins of the Sun). And you can tell, in the chapter house are murals of scenes of amor, music and hunting parties and coach and horses- all underneath biblical scenes of piety!
